Saints Lose Tight Game To No. 3 Lindsey Wilson

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) -  The Thomas More University football team dropped a close matchup to the No. 3 ranked Lindsey Wilson College Blue Raiders Saturday night at Republic Bank Field, 12-3.

Results

Neither team could get anything going in the first quarter offensively, as the most yards put together during a drive for either team was 21 by the Blue Raiders. This changed in the second quarter for Lindsey Wilson, as they used a 12-play drive that was aided by a Thomas More pass interference and found Logan Collier for an eight-yard touchdown and a 7-0 lead.

This is what the halftime score would be as the Blue Raiders missed a late field goal wide left before the break.

The Saints would use good field position at the Lindsey Wilson 49-yard line to kick a field goal and make it 7-3 early in the final quarter. During the drive, the Saints had the ball as far as the Blue Raider six-yard line, but a penalty put them back before the Brooks Curran field goal.

On the ensuing Lindsey Wilson drive, they started at the Saints 42 after a few mishaps on the kickoff. They would lead a drive down the field and kick a 35-yard field goal to make it 10-3 with 8:46 remaining.

Thomas More had a few chances down the stretch to try and tie things up but were unable to do so. A late Blue Raider safety made the final score 12-3.

  • Craig Wills Jr. made a team-high five catches for 53 yards.
