(MONTGOMERY, Ala.) - The Thomas More University football team defeated the Faulkner University Eagles 24-7 Saturday afternoon in Montgomery, Alabama for their third road win of the season, and third win overall.
It was a well-played game for the Saints in all facets. Thomas More fell behind 7-0 with 5:22 to play in the first quarter of the game but immediately came back with a touchdown of their own.

Craig Wills for 53 yards before finding
Preston Agee for a 26-yard touchdown pass, and just like that, it was 7-7.
Luke Iden put the Saints ahead for good in the second quarter on his first collegiate field goal, a 43-yarder, the longest of the season for Thomas More.
Later in the second,
Kolton Reeves first interception of the season and a 62-yard return set the Saints up at the Eagles two-yard line. One play later, Wills was standing in the endzone, as Thomas More took a 17-7 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, the Saints manufactured an 11-play drive that began at their own 28-yard line and ended with a
Mike Kirch touchdown on an eight-yard pass from Espinosa to put them up 24-7.
The Eagles would threaten to score in the fourth, but a
Tanner Lawrence sack pushed them back to the Saints 21-yard line where they missed the 38-yard field goal. Thomas More would go on to win 24-7.
- Espinosa tied his season-high with three touchdown passes (Kentucky Christian).
- Kirch scored his first career collegiate touchdown.
- Agee scored his third touchdown of the season.
- Wills scored his second touchdown of the season.
- Maleek Jarrett rushed for a game-high 67 yards.
- Christian Rice recorded his first interception of the season to go along with seven solo tackles.
- Along with his interception, Reeves made three solo tackles with one being a sack.
- Del Thomas led the team with nine tackles (seven solo, two assisted).
- The Saints tied their season-high with four sacks as Amos Griffith and Axel Bell also recorded sacks (Along with Lawrence and Reeves).
- Elgin Phillips averaged 48.8 yards on six punts, with a long of 62, while pinning the Eagles inside their 20 twice.
- The Saints defense has allowed just 19 points over the last two games.
The Saints are now 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the Mid-South Conference. They are in action at Republic Bank Field next Saturday for their Homecoming game against the Cumberland University Phoenix. Thomas More beat the Phoenix 10-3 last season.
