(Crestview Hills, Ky.) – The women's basketball program at Thomas More University defeated Olivet Nazarene by a score of 98-82 to move on the Round of 16 in Sioux City, Iowa.
- Sophomore Courtney Hurst (Burlington, Ky./Conner) started the game scorching hot from three-point territory making three in a minute and thirty second span, giving Thomas More a 11-2 lead with 7:34 remaining in the first.
- Senior Briana McNutt (Maysville, Ky./Mason County) made a three-pointer to give the Saints their largest lead of the quarter at 13 with 2:30 remaining in the first quarter.
- Sophomore Emily Simon (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) converted an and-one with 7:49 left in the second to halt an Olivet run and helped TMU to extend their lead back to 11.
- Sophomore Zoie Barth (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands) pushed the lead back to 14 to end the half for Thomas More as she drove past two defenders for a layup.
- Junior Taylor Clos (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) gave the Saints their largest lead of the night at 19 by converting a three-point play at the 8:53 mark of the third quarter.
- First-year Rachel Martin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day) made a crucial three-point field goal in the third to make the score 67-48 TMU with 3:50 remaining in the third.
- After a run by the Tigers graduate student Alexah Chrisman (Greendale, Ind./McAuley (Ohio) backed her defender down and made a shot from the paint extending Thomas More's lead back to 15.
- McNutt drained a three-pointer that would ultimately put the game out of reach for Olivet, with the final score being 98-82.
- Barth led the Saints in scoring with 24 while pulling down six rebounds and dishing out seven assists.
- McNutt posted a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
- Chrisman scored 18 points and pulled down nine boards.
- Clos scored 14, making all nine of her free throws.
- Shot 50.8% from the field and 43.3% from behind the arc.
- Assisted on 19 of their 33 made baskets.
