#20 Men's Basketball Drop to #6 Shawnee State, 77-68

(Crestview Hills, Ky,)- #20 Thomas More men's basketball team fell to #6 Shawnee State, 77-68, who secured another Mid-South Conference win. The Saints overall record drops to 13-7 and conference record to 11-7.

• Redshirt Junior Ryan Batte (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) started things off for the Saints sinking a 3-point shot assisted by junior Logan Swackhammer (Chillicothe, Ohio/Unioto) to put them on the board. They trailed 4-3.
• With 14:47 on the clock Batte made a field goal to put the Saints up by five, 13-8.
• Swackhammer made a two-point shot to cut the Bears lead by two (35-33).
• Senior Luke Rudy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) drained a three assisted by sophomore Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) to put the Saints down by three at the half with a score of 42-39.
• Batte led the Saints in the first half with 13 points and had three rebounds and two assists.
• Jolly led the team with seven rebounds and two assists and had seven points.
• The Saints were 47.1% (16/34) from the field and 40% (4/10) from the 3-point line.

• To start the second half off, Rudy sunk two threes' in a row to put the Saints down by four. Batte followed making a two-point shot to cut the Bears lead to two (49-47).
• With 1:52 on the clock, first year Riley Haubner (Cincinnati, Ohio/ La Salle) made a field goal to put the Saints down by 11.
• First year Derek Eddings (Cincinnati, Ohio/ La Salle) made a lay-up to cut the Bears lead to eight, but in the end the Saints came up short with a 77-68 loss.
• Rudy led the second half with eight points and had one rebound.
• Batte followed with seven points and three rebounds and led the team with two assists.
• Jolly led the team with five rebounds.

• Batte led the team with 20 points and three assists and had six rebounds.
• Rudy followed with 14 points and three rebounds.
• Jolly led the team with 12 rebounds and three assists and had nine points.

• The Saints play next at the Connor Convocation Center on Thursday (February 10) against Bethel (Tenn.) with a 8:00 pm Eastern tip-off.
