RV Men's Basketball Secure the No. 3 Spot in the MSC With 57-53 Win Over #14 Georgetown

(GEORGETOWN, Ky.)- RV Thomas More men's basketball team take down #14 Georgetown, 57-53 to secure the No. 3 spot in the MSC on Saturday afternoon (February 20). The Saints overall record improves to 14-8 and 12-8 in the conference.

• Sophomore Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) helped start things of for the Saints making a field-goal to put them on the board trailing (8-2) with 14:55 on the clock.
• Redshirt Junior Ryan Batte (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) helped the Saints comeback in the first half with 4:43 to play, tying things up 19-19.
• Batte made two free-throws to secure the Saints the lead at the half (30-26).
• Jolly led the Saints with 14 points and had three rebounds and one assist.
• Batte followed with eight points and one assist and led the team with six rebounds.
• Senior Garren Bertsch (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) had seven points with one rebound and one assist,
• Thomas More was 32.4% (11-34) from the field in the first half.

• Jolly made a field-goal to start things off for the Saints with 18:48 on the clock to make the game 32-32 all.
• With 7:04 on the clock, Bertsch swished a 3-point shot assisted by Batte to put the Saints up 49-45.
• Bertsch made a lay-up assisted by Jolly with 0.1 on the clock to secure the Saints 57-53 win over the Tigers.
• Bertsch led the Saints with seven points and had two rebounds in the second half.
• Junior Logan Swackhammer (Chillicothe, Ohio/Unioto) recorded six rebounds to lead the team in the second half.
• Batte had six points and two rebounds and led the Saints in assists with three.
• Jolly also had six points and had three rebounds and one assist.
• The Saints were 37.9% (11/29) from the field in the second half.

• Jolly led the Saints with 20 points and had seven rebounds and two assists.
• Batte followed with 14 points and eight rebounds and led the team with four assists.
• Bertsch also had 14 points and had three rebounds and one assist.
• Swackhammer led the Saints with nine rebounds and had two assists and two points.
• Thomas More was 34.9% (22-63) from the field.
