RV Men's Basketball Remain in Third Place in the MSC After 73-68 Loss to Freed-Hardeman

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)- RV Thomas More men's basketball team comes up short to Freed-Hardeman Saturday (February 13), 73-68. Saints record falls to 13-8 overall and 11-8 in the conference but remain in third place in the Mid-South conference standings.

  • Senior Luke Rudy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) started things off for the Saints by draining a 3-point shot assisted by senior Garren Bertsch (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) to put them on the board with 16:35 to play in the first half.
  • To put the Saints ahead 16 points was junior Logan Swackhammer (Chillicothe, Ohio/Unioto) who swished a 3-point shot to make the score 33-17 with 6:01 to play.
  • Thomas More led 39-30 at the half.
  • Swackhammer led the Saints in the first half with 10 points and one assist, he also had four rebounds.
  • Redshirt Junior Ryan Batte (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) followed behind with eight points and led the team with eight rebounds and one assist.
  • Rudy had also had eight points and one assist and had one rebound.
  • The Saints shot 48.3% (14/29) from the field and 45.5% (5/11) from the 3-point line.

  • Sophomore Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) made a field goal to start things off for the Saints in the second half to continue their lead (41-32) with 18:43 on the clock.
  • With 0:07 seconds on the clock Bertsch sunk a 3-point shot assisted by sophomore Noah Pack (Georgetown, Ohio/Georgetown) to cut Freed-Hardeman's lead to three.
  • The Saints came up short with a 73-68 loss.
  • Jolly led the Saints in the second half with 12 points and had three rebounds.
  • Batte and Rudy led the team with four rebounds each and Swackhammer led the team with two assists in the second half.
  • Batte and Bertsch both had six points each.
  • The Saints shot 47.8% (11/23) from the field and 30% (3/10) from the 3-point line in the second half.

  • Jolly led the team with 17 points and had seven rebounds.
  • Batte followed with 14 points and two assists and he led the team with 12 rebounds.
  • Swackhammer led the Saints with three assists and had ten points and four rebounds.
  • The Saints shot 48.1% (25/52) from the field and 38.1% (8/21) from the 3-point line.
