Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – Thomas More men's basketball team took down #6 Georgetown College 88-48 in a Mid-South match up Saturday night. The Saints improve their record to 5-3 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
- Senior Garren Bertsch (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) started things off for the Saints with hitting a 3pt-FG, giving them a 3-0 advantage at the 16:07 mark in the first. From there the Saints went on a 5-0 run, to put them ahead 11-1.
- Redshirt Junior Ryan Batte (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) made a field goal to start the Saints 9-0 run against the Tigers. He had ten points and four rebounds in the first half.
- Sophomore Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) lead the Saints with 14 points. He was 6-9 from the field and 2-3 in 3-pt field goal attempts.
- Senior Luke Rudy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) followed behind with six points and three rebounds.
- The Saints were 55.2% (16-29) from the field and 60% (6/10) from behind the three-point line in the first half.
- Thomas More finished the half with a 38-22 lead over Georgetown.
- Rudy started things off for the Saints in the second half making a 3-pt field at the 19:20 mark. He made another 3-pt field goal, assisted by Bertsch with 8:49 left in the game to start off the Saints 5-0 run to put them up 80-37.
- Jolly, Batte, and Sophomore Noah Pack (Georgetown, Ohio/Georgetown) all had nine points in the second half.
- Rudy led the Saints in the second half with 13 points.
- The Saints were 51.5% (17/33) from the field and 52.6% (10/19) from behind the three-point line in the second half.
- Thomas More defeated the Tigers 50-26 in the second half, securing their 88-48 victory.
- The Saints set the school-record for 3pt field goals made with 16.
- Jolly lead the Saints with 23 points and five rebounds.
- Batte followed with 19 points, and the team with ten rebounds and seven assists.
- Rudy also had 19 points and had four rebounds.
- Pack scored 12 points, had four rebounds, and two assists.
- The Saints went 53.2% (33-63) from the field and 55.2% (16-29) from the three-point line.
The men's basketball team will be back in action this Monday (January 11) where they will take on Lindsey Wilson in Biggers Sports Center with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m. Central/6:30 p.m. Eastern.
