Men's Basketball Cruises by Lindsey Wilson with a 79-36 Win

(Crestview Hills, Ky,)-  Thomas More men's basketball team cruise by Lindsey Wilson to secure another Mid-South Conference win. The Saints outscored the Blue Raiders, 79-36 to improve their overall record to 10-4 and conference record to 8-4.

 

  • Redshirt Junior Ryan Batte (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) started things off for the Saints making a 2-pt field goal, to put them in a 2-0 lead.
  • With 12:29 on the clock, Junior Logan Swackhammer (Chillicothe, Ohio/Unioto) made a lay-up assisted by Batte, to start the Saints 22-0 run.
  • Senior Garren Bertsch (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) made a 3-pointer to top off the Saints lead in the first half.
  • Thomas More slid by Lindsey Wilson in the first half, 42-10.
  • The Saints were 51.7% (15/29) from the field and 50% (8/16) from the 3-point line. They were 100% (4/4) from the free throw line.
  • Their largest lead was by 34 points and the Saints had 23 rebounds.
  • Sophomore Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) led the team in the first half with 12 points. He had four rebounds and one assist.
  • Batte followed with 11 points, four rebounds, and two assists.

  • Jolly made two free throws to start the Saints off in the second half to continue their strong lead (44-13).
  • With 2:19 left to play in the game First Year Elijah Howard (Newport, Ky./ Newport Central Catholic) swished a 3-pointer assisted by First Year Jalen Scott (Hebron, Ky/ Conner) to give the Saints their biggest lead of the game of 48 points (79-31).
  • Thomas More outscored Lindsey Wilson 79-36.
  • The Saints went 46.7% (14/30) from the field and 35.7% (5/14) from the 3-point line in the second half. They had 14 rebounds and their largest lead was by 48 points in the second half.
  • Saben led the team with eight points and tied with four rebounds in the second half.
