Men's Basketball Take their Fourth Loss of the Season to Cumberland (Tenn.), 61-57

(Crestview Hills, Ky.)- Thomas More men's basketball team takes their fourth loss of the season to Cumberland University (Tenn.), 61-57. Their overall record goes to 9-4 and 7-4 in the conference.

• Redshirt Junior Ryan Batte (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) started things off for the Saints, making a field-goal with 19:05 on the clock. This put the Saints up 2-0.
• Batte led the team with nine points in the first half and had one rebound and one assist.
• Senior Luke Rudy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) followed with six points, two rebounds and one assist.
• Junior Logan Swackhammer (Chillicothe, Ohio/Unioto) led the team with five rebounds and had four points.
• With 7:36 to play, the Saints took a ten-point lead with Batte making a field-goals to put them up 21-11.
• Phoenix came back and tied things up at the half with Thomas More, 32-32.
• The Saints went 46.4% (13/28) from the field and 36.4% (4/11) from the three-point line.

• Sophomore Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) led the Saints in the second half with 13 points and six rebounds.
• With 13:41 to play, Phoenix took a nine-point lead, but Jolly made a field goal with 12:26 to play to cut the lead to five.
• Swackhammer tied the game up for the Saints 55-55 by making a field goal.
• With 27 seconds left on the clock, Ryan Batte cut the lead to two, making it 57-55. Ultimately, the Saints came up short with a 61-57 loss.
• Thomas More was 34.4% (11/32) from the field and 22.2% (2/9) from the three-point line.

• Jolly led the team with 17 points and tied for rebounds with seven. He also had one block and one assist.
• Batte followed behind with 13 points, five rebounds, and two assists.
• Senior Garren Bertsch (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) had nine points, three rebounds, and led the team in assists with three.
• Swackhammer tied for rebounds with seven and had eight points and two assists.
• The Saints went 40% (24/60) from the field and 30% (6/20) from the three-point line.
