Box Score (McKenzie, Tenn.) – The men's basketball program at Thomas More defeated Bethel University on Saturday (January 16) by a score of 91-78. With the win the Saints move to 8-3 overall and 6-3 in conference play.
- Sophomore Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) started the scoring for TMU with a lay-up making the score 2-0 in favor of Thomas More.
- Redshirt-Junior Ryan Batte (Cincinnati, Ohio/ Oak Hills) made a jump shot to give the Saints back the lead at 10-9 with 14:51 remaining in the first half.
- After a run by Bethel first-year Riley Haubner (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle) made a three-pointer with 5 minutes left in the half to retake the lead at 26-25.
- Senior Luke Rudy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) made a three-pointer with 50 seconds left in the first half to help give TMU a 41-35 lead heading into half.
- Rudy would make one of his six second half threes to get the scoring going for Thomas More in the second half maintaining their lead at 44-39.
- Sophomore Noah Pack (Georgetown, Ohio/Georgetown) gave the Saints a double digit lead at with 14:30 remaining in the game.
- Senior Garren Bertsch (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) scored a layup off a feed from Batte to make the score 72-60 with 7:27 left in the game.
- Junior Logan Swackhammer (Chillicothe, Ohio/Unioto) hit a three-pointer with 4 minutes remaining to give TMU their largest lead at 17.
- Three Saints scored over 20 points, Jolly (28), Rudy (21), and Batte (20).
- Shot 57.1% as a team, 47% from the three-point line.
- Shot 93% from the free throw line.
- Rudy led team in rebounding with 6.
The men's basketball program returns to action on Monday, (January 18) where they will face-off against Martin Methodist in the Connor Convocation Center with tip-off set for 2 p.m. ET.
