Box Score 2 (BLUEFIELD, Va.) — The Thomas More University men's volleyball team went 0-2 today (March 6, 2020) at Bluefield College, losing a pair of five-set matches to Lawrence Technological University and the host Rams at Dome Gymnasium.
The Saints fell to 4-11 overall with the two losses.
LAWRENCE TECH MATCH
- Thomas More went up 2-0 in the match before losing the final three sets.
- The Saints lost by the scores of 23-25, 19-25, 25-20, 25-14, 15-10.
- First-year outside hitter Cameron Ware (Pearland, Texas/Turner) logged a team-leading 11 kills and added 10 digs.
- First-year Jacob Wehrman (Milford, Ohio/Milford) had 10 kills and four total blocks.
- Junior Mason Cobler (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville South) finished with nine kills, nine digs, and two service aces.
- First-year defensive specialist Jonathan Litzler (Edgewood, Ky./St. Henry) led the Saints with 13 digs.
- Sophomore setter Tanner Miller (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland) had 39 assists and five digs.
- Sophomore Jakob Jones (Cincinnati, Ohio/Roger Bacon) had four kills and four total blocks.
BLUEFIELD MATCH
- Thomas More was defeated by the scores of 25-19, 23-25, 25-17, 16-25, 15-7.
- Chris Carlson (Manila, Philippines/Brent International School) led the Saints with 15 kills.
- Cobler had 11 kills, nine digs, and two total blocks.
- Miller had 39 assists, seven digs, and two service aces.
- Litzler totaled 24 digs.
- Senior Ryan Hans (Fort Thomas, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) had seven kills and eight digs.
- Thomas More will host No. 2 Campbellsville University on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center.
