#22 Thomas More Falls to #12 Lindsey Wilson

(COLUMBIA, Ky.) – The 22nd-ranked Thomas More University women's basketball team fell, 82-72, to 12th-ranked Lindsey Wilson College today (Saturday, February 22, 2020) in a Mid-South Conference game at the Biggers Sports Center in Columbia, Kentucky.

  • Lindsey Wilson jumped out to a 28-10 after one quarter of action.
  • The Blue Raiders used a 14-7 second quarter to extend the lead to 42-17 at halftime.
  • Senior forward Emily Schultz (Melbourne, Ky./Bishop Brossart) led the Saints with six points and three rebounds.
  • First-year guard Zoie Barth (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands) had five points and three assists.
  • Sophomore forward Kaylin Burdick (Cincinnati, Ohio/West Clermont) pulled down four rebounds.

  • Thomas More opened the third quarter on a 22-10 run to cut the lead to 52-39 with 36-seconds to play in the quarter when Schultz made a jumper.
  • Lindsey Wilson led 55-41 after three quarters.
  • Thomas More used a 25-18 run to open the fourth quarter to cut the lead to 73-66 when senior guard Kaela Saner (Florence, Ky./Boone County) made two free-throws with 1:40 to play in the game.
  • That would be as close as the Saints would come as the Blue Raiders closed out the game on a 9-6 run to post the 82-72 victory.

  • Thomas More falls to 18-9 overall and 7-7 in the Mid-South.
  • Lindsey Wilson improves to 24-5 overall and 12-3 in the Mid-South.
  • Schultz finished with a double-double as she had 22 points and 10 rebounds to go with two blocks and an assist.
  • Barth had 14 points, five assists and two rebounds.
  • First-year guard Courtney Hurst (Burlington, Ky./Conner) had nine points, three steals, three rebounds and one assist.
  • First-year guard Summer Secrist (Taylor Mill, Ky./Scott) added nine points, five rebounds, two assists and one block.
  • Junior guard Syarra Sellers (Aurora, Ohio/Aurora) had nine points and one steal.

  • Thomas More returns to action on Thursday (February 27) when it hosts Life University at 6 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
