(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky) – Senior forward Emily Schultz (Melbourne, Ky./Bishop Brossart) recorded a double-double tonight (Thursday, January 9, 2020) to lead the 21st-ranked Thomas More University women's basketball team to an 87-55 win over Georgetown College in a Mid-South Conference game at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
- Thomas More raced out to a 22-9 lead after one quarter.
- The Saints shot 50 percent (eight-of-16) from the field, including 71.4 percent (five-of-seven) from the behind the three-point arc.
- Thomas More out-scored the Tigers 23-12 in the second quarter to extend the lead to 45-21 at halftime.
- The Saints conned on a nine-of-17 field goals for 52.9 percent in the second quarter, including 44.4 percent (four-of-nine) from behind the arc.
- Senior guard Kaela Saner (Florence, Ky./Boone County) led the team in scoring in the opening half with 14.
- Schultz had nine points and five rebounds.
- Junior guard Briana McNutt (Maysville, Ky./Mason County) added eight points.
- The Saints had a 23-16 scoring advantage in the third period to increase the lead to 68-37 after three quarters.
- Thomas More extended the lead to as many 37 points in the fourth quarter as it cruised to the 87-55 victory.
