Box Score 2 (BOWLING GREEN, Ky.) – The Thomas More University women's volleyball team went 2-0 today (Friday, August 23, 2019) on the first day of the Vette City Volleyball Classic at Ephram White Gymnasium in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The Saints defeated Bethel (Tenn.) University, 3-0, in the first match and defeated Florida College, 3-1, in the second game.
BETHEL UNIVERSITY MATCH
- Thomas More won the match by the scores of 205-20, 25-11 and 25-13.
- Senior middle hitter Jenna Mummert (Batavia, Ohio/Clermont Northeastern) hit .571 with eight kills, two service aces and four blocks.
- Sophomore outside hitter Emily Mohs (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) hit .407 with 13 kills.
- Senior outside hitter Madison Krumpelman (Crestview Hills, Ky./Holy Cross) hit .400 with seven kills, 16 digs and three blocks.
- Junior defensive specialist Jessica Ginn (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) recorded 16 digs.
- Junior setter Madison Read (Hebron, Ky./St. Henry) finished the match with 18 assists and three service aces.
FLORIDA COLLEGE MATCH
- The Saints defeated Florida College 25-11, 25-18, 18-25 and 25-16.
- Krumpelman hit .500 with 17 kills and 11 digs.
- Read had 23 assists, three service aces and 11 digs.
- Mohs tallied 12 kills,
- Ginn finished with 16 digs.
- Senior setter/right side Alli Borders (Florence, Ky./Boone County) had 19 assists.
- Senior defensive specialist Sara Crooker (Williamsburg, Ohio/McNicholas) had 11 digs.
- Thomas More will close out the Vette City Classic tomorrow with a pair of matches in Bowling Green.
- The Saints will play Montreat College at 1 p.m. Eastern and Union (Ky.) College at 8:30 p.m. Eastern.
