Saints Beat Seventh Seed Shawnee State in Four Sets in Mid-South Quarterfinals

(BOWLING GREEN, Ky.) — The second-seeded Thomas More University women's volleyball team topped seventh-seeded Shawnee State University in four sets in Thursday afternoon's (November 14, 2019) Mid-South Conference Tournament quarterfinal match at Bowling Green Arena in Bowling Green, Ky.

• Thomas More, which received votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll, won by the scores of 25-16, 19-25, 25-13, 25-17.
• The Saints improved to 23-7 overall.
• Shawnee State fell to 8-27 overall with the loss.
• Senior Jenna Mummert (Batavia, Ohio/Clermont Northeastern) led the Saints with 14 kills (.333 hitting percentage), four blocks, and three service aces.
• Sophomore Emily Mohs (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) tied for the team lead with 14 kills (.294 hitting percentage).
• Senior Madison Krumpelman (Crestview Hills, Ky./Holy Cross) finished with nine kills, 11 digs, and three service aces.
• Junior right side Carlee Lambert (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) totaled eight kills (.312 hitting percentage) and three blocks.
• Junior libero Jessica Ginn (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) tallied a team-high 15 digs.
• Senior defensive specialist Sara Crooker (Williamsburg, Ohio/McNicholas) finished with 11 digs.
• Junior setter Madison Read (Hebron, Ky./St. Henry) led the Saints with 22 assists.
• Sophomore setter Lizzie Schoenfeld (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) finished with 19 assists.

• Thomas More will advance to the semifinals of the Mid-South Conference Tournament, where they will face the winner of the match between third-seeded Georgetown College and sixth seeded University of the Cumberlands. The semifinal match will be played Friday (November 15) at 4 p.m. Eastern/3 p.m. Central at Bowling Green Arena.
