Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The top-seeded Thomas More College volleyball team won its fourth straight and seventh overall Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament today (Saturday, November 7, 2015) as it defeated third-seeded Bethany College, 3-0, in the championship match at the Connor Convocation Center. The Saints won by the scores of 25-14, 25-16 and 25-15.
With the win, the Saints improve to 26-4 and earn the PAC automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. It will be the Saints' school-best 14th NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. The tournament field and brackets for the NCAA Championship will be released on the NCAA championship website (www.ncaa.com) at 11 a.m. on Monday (November 9). With the loss, the Bison fall to 29-9.
Thomas More hit .363 for the match as it hit .438 in the first set, .303 in the second set and .351 in the third set. The Saints were led in kills by senior outside hitter Stacy Howell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) and junior outside hitter Marisa Meyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) with 10 kills each. Senior middle hitter Jessica Knaley (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) finished with nine kills, while sophomore setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) had a match-high 33 assists and Howell had three service aces.
On the defensive side the net, sophomore defensive specialist Rachel Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) had 15 digs and Howell added 14.
