Box Score (BETHANY, W.Va.) – The Thomas More College volleyball team remained undefeated in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) tonight (Thursday, October 1, 2015) as it defeated Bethany College, 3-1, at Hummel Field House in Bethany, West Virginia. The Saints won the match by the scores of 19-25, 25-20, 25-18 and 25-20.
With the win, the Saints improve to 8-3 overall and 7-0 in the PAC. With the loss, the Bison fall to 15-6 overall and 6-2 in the PAC.
Senior outside hitter Stacy Howell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) led the Saints' offensive attack with 19 kills. Two other Saints registered double-digit kills as junior middle hitter Alexis Bierbaum (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) had 14 and senior middle hitter Jessica Knaley (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) added 10. Sophomore setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) led the team in assists with 51, while sophomore defensive specialist Rachel Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) led the team in service aces with three.
Defensively, Fessler led Thomas More with 20 digs. Bronner and junior outside hitter Marisa Meyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) each finished with 11 digs.
Thomas More is idle until next Wednesday (October 7) when it travels to Washington, Pennsylvania to play Washington & Jefferson College at 7 p.m.
