Box Score (FRANKLIN, Ind.) - The Thomas More College volleyball team defeated Franklin College, 3-1, tonight (Wednesday, October 9, 2013) in a non-conference match in Franklin, Indiana. The Saints won by the scores of 25-22, 21-25, 25-21 and 25-15.
With the win, the Saints improve to 13-4 and with the loss, the Grizzlies fall to 13-7.
Sophomore setter Becca Kuhn (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) paced the offense with 25 assists, while junior outside hitter Holly Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) added 16 assists. The Saints finished with double-digit kills as sophomore middle hitter Jessica Knaley (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) had 18, sophomore outside hitter Stacy Howell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) had 13 and junior outside hitter Felicity Britt (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) had 11.
Junior defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) led the defense with 35 digs. Senior defensive specialist Brittany Rohrkasse (Mason, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame), freshman outside hitter Sydney Bragg (Huron, Ohio/Huron) and freshman middle hitter Tara Melzer (Ross, Ohio/Ross) all finished with 17 digs each.
The Saints are idle until next Tuesday (October 15) when they travel to Greenville, Pennsylvania to play Thiel College at 7 p.m.
