Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More College volleyball team defeated Saint Vincent College, 3-1, today (Wednesday, October 23, 2013) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. Thomas More won by the scores of 25-12, 23-25, 25-14 and 25-19.
With the win, the Saints improve to 19-4 overall and 13-2 in the PAC. With the loss, the Bearcats fall to 14-13 overall and 7-7 in the PAC.
Sophomore middle hitter Jessica Knaley (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) led the Saints as she hit .444 with 14 kills and two service aces. Freshman outside hitter Marisa Meyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) had 12 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Stacy Howell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) had 11 kills and senior middle hitter Tyler Deaton (Lexington, Ky./Lexington Catholic) hit .636. Junior outside hitter Holly Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) led the team in assists with 34, while senior defensive specialist Brittany Rohrkasse (Mason, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) added 11.
Junior defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) led four Saints with double-digit digs with 22. Freshman outside hitter Sydney Bragg (Huron, Ohio/Huron) had 15 digs, Rohrkasse had 13 and freshman defensive specialist Tara Melzer (Ross, Ohio/Ross) had 12.
Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (October 26) when it hosts Waynesburg University at 12 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center.
