Box Score (BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) - The third-seeded Thomas More College volleyball team fell, 3-2, to second-seeded Bethany College tonight (Friday, November 4, 2011) in a semifinal match of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament at Metheny Fieldhouse in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Bethany won by the scores of 25-18, 29-27, 19-25, 18-25 and 15-13.
With the loss, the Saints end the season at 19-11 and with the win, the Bison improve to 28-5 and will play top-seeded Geneva College tomorrow at 4 p.m. in the PAC championship match.
Thomas More was led by senior middle blocker Katie Sullivan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) as she had a .415 hitting percentage in the match with a team-high 17 kills and had three blocks. Two other Saints had double-digit kills as freshman outside hitter Karsen Cronin (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) had 16 and freshman outside hitter Felicity Britt (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) had 11. The Saints were led in assists by senior setter Michelle Clifford (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley), who had 44 assists. Defensively, four Saints had double-digit digs as freshman defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Ohio/L'Anse Creuse) had 39, defensive specialist Brittany Rohrkasse (Mason, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) had 15 and Cronin and freshman defensive specialist Christina Brackett (Louisville, Ky./Seneca) each had 14.
