Reilman Scores Twice in Saints' 5-0 Shutout Win Over Waynesburg

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - Sophomore midfielder Kirstie Reilman (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) scored two goals to lead the Thomas More College women's soccer team to a 5-0 win over Waynesburg University today (Saturday, October 29, 2011) in both teams' regular season finale at The Bank of Kentucky Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints end the regular season at 10-4-1 overall and 7-1-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) and with the loss, the Yellow Jackets end the regular season at 14-4-1 overall and 5-3-1 in the PAC.

Reilman gave the Saints an early 1-0 lead when she scored on a free kick at the 22:28 mark.  The Saints increased the lead to 2-0 when Reilman scored off a cross from junior defender Abby Gindling (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) at the 34:25 mark.  Junior midfielder Chrissy Sonderman (Independence, Ky./Holy Cross) scored at the 36:55 to extend the lead to 3-0 at halftime.

In the second half, the Saints increased the lead to 4-0 at the 77:47 mark when freshman forward Kelsea Arvin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Northwest) scored off a double assist from sophomore forward Courtney Clark (Burlington, Ky./Notre Dame Academy) and freshman midfielder Taylor Bernard (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield).  Senior midfielder Sara Harrison (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) closed out the scoring when she scored at the 86:49 mark off a cross from senior forward Christy Green (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mother of Mercy) for the final score of 5-0.

Senior goalkeeper Katie Burger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mother of Mercy) played all 90 minutes in goal and earned the shutout win as she recorded one save.

Thomas More out-shot Waynesburg, 29-4, including 14-2 on-goal and won the battle of corner kicks, 7-0.

Thomas More will be the No. 2 seed in next week's PAC Championship Tournament and will host the No. 3 seed on Tuesday (November 1) at 2 p.m. at The Bank of Kentucky Field.  The tournament seeds will be announced later tonight on the PAC website.
