Darien McDowell is in his 6th year as an assistant men’s volleyball coach at Thomas More University during the 2024-25 academic year.

McDowell coached Finneytown High School varsity in 2019 and had the most wins in a decade, posted an undefeated out of conference record and advanced to the second round of the playoffs.  He also has coached junior varsity at Finneytown and Walnut Hills High School and served as head coach and program director at Oak Hills High School.

McDowell was All-GMC Academic, GMC Athlete of the Year, first team All-GMC, first team SW Region and second team All-Ohio as a member of the Oak Hills team in 2013.  He holds the single season school record for aces, serve receptions and kills.  He played strong safety in college for Morehead State University and Mount St. Joseph University.
