Sean McGinnis

Sean McGinnis enters his 5th year as Head Coach for the Thomas More Lacrosse Program during the 2026-27 season. Most recently, he was the Head Lacrosse Coach at Archbishop Moeller High School for the past 8 years. At Moeller, he guided the Crusaders to a 94-53 overall record, five regional finals and the 2017 OHSAA Division 1 State Title. Many of his players earned all-region and all-state honors as well as six players being name US Lacrosse All Americans.

The Saints went 7-9 overall in the 2026 season and a 5-5 mark within the conference. They made the G-MAC Tournament as the No. 6 seed, falling to Davenport in the Quarterfinals. Bryce Collins, Gus Kleeman, and Stephen Schodowski all earned G-MAC All-Conference Second Team. Eric Wong was named G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week on February 7.

The 2025 season saw the Saints go 2-12 overall and 1-8 in G-MAC play.

In the second season with the Saints, he led the program to an overall record of 2-10 and a Great Midwest Athletic Conference record of 2-6. This marked the first season in NCAA Division II and the G-MAC.

In his first season with the Saints, he led them to their first win in program history at Alderson Broaddus University on March 18th, 2023. 

A native of Long Valley, New Jersey. Coach McGinnis graduated from West Morris Central High School. McGinnis earned his Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine and Communication from Ashland University and his Master of Education in Sports Management and Exercise Science from Cleveland State University.

Coach McGinnis has been involved with Coaching Lacrosse at various levels through out his career. He has over 150 wins as a High School Head Coach as well as coached the Midwest Team at The Brine National Lacrosse Event, winning the National Event in summer of 2016. Coach McGinnis has also represent Team USA in the Brogden Cup, a friend series between the top U-19 US and Canadian High School Players.

Coach McGinnis is married to Beth Jacobs McGinnis and live in Reading, OH. They have three children, Alexis McGinnis Cummings, Sydney and Robbie Jacobs, as well as a grandson River Cummings.
