Redshirt Sophomore Highlights (2025-26): Appeared in 27 games with 26 starts while averaging a team-high 29.3 minutes per game. He had a team-high 18.8 points per game and scoring a total of 507 points in the season. He averaged 4.9 rebounds per game and had a team-high 22 total steals. He had a total of 119 assists (third best in the conference), leading the team. He scored a career-high 36 points at Cedarville on February 7 and had a career-high 11 rebounds on December 11 against Boyce. Three times this season, he had 8 assists (November 22 against UIndy, February 21 against Tiffin, and February 7 against Cedarville). He also had four steals at both Kentucky State on December 31 and Northwood on January 4. He tied Ashland’s Maceo Williams for 18.8 points per game to led the conference and Simpson was second in the conference for field goals made. He was named to the G-MAC All-Conference First Team.

Redshirt First Year Highlights (2024-25): Appeared in all 30 games and started in 27 for the Saints. Averaged 28.1 minutes, 13.5 points, and 4.3 rebounds per game. Earned G-MAC Second Team All-Conference and Freshman of the Year honors. Posted a season high 26 points in the February 13th game against Cedarville.

First Year Highlights (2023-24): Redshirted the season.

High School Highlights: Simpson attended Frederick Douglass High School where he was coached by Wes Scarberry. During his career he was a 1,000 point scorer and earned All-League honors twice. 

Personal: Kai Simpson is the son of Dionte'  and Kamal Simpson and Amanda Henderson. He has one sibling named Kamal.
