Morency attended Campbell County high school in which he earned three varsity letters under coach Mike Woolf...During his freshman campaign he was named team captain and Defensvie MVP...During his junior season he was named Defensive MVP...During his senior year he was named Defensive MVP, All-State Nominee, Second-Team Northern Kentucky, and played in the All-Star game.
