Jon Smith is entering his third season as an assistant football coach at Thomas More University during the 2022-23 academic year.  Smith coaches the Saints’ offensive line as well as being Co-Recruiting Coordinator.

Smith came to Thomas More from The Catholic University of American in Washington, D.C., where he coached offensive line from 2019-20.  From 2014-2019 he was an assistant coach at Lindsey Wilson College.  Smith coached defensive line from 2014-2017, offensive line from 2017-19 and also served as the recruiting coordinator from 2017-19.

Smith earned his undergraduate degree from Lindsey Wilson in 2014.  He started 42 games at center for the Blue Raiders.  Smith was honorable mention All-Mid-South Conference in 2010 and first team All-Conference in 2011, 2012 and 2013.  He was named to Kentucky All-Commonwealth Team in 2011, 2012 Capital One Academic All-District Team and was selected to play in the D2 versus NAIA All-Star Bowl in 2013.

Smith earned his graduate degree from Western Kentucky University in 2016.
