Dillon Costello is in his first season as an assistant football coach/wide receivers coach at Thomas More University during the 2025-26 academic year.
Prior to his arrival at Thomas More, Costello served as the Wide Receiver Coach for Hampden-Sydney from 2022 and 2023, and was the Assistant WR Coach at Rhode Island in 2024. In 2022 he helped the Tigers' offense rank 5th nationally in passing yards per game (313.6 YPG). In 2024 at Rhode Island, he was part of a staff that claimed the 2024 CAA Championship.
During his playing career, Costello was a five-year team member with the Tigers of Hampden-Sydney (2017-21), including serving as a team captain during his final two seasons. He started 34 of 44 career games with 153 receptions for 1,687 yards and 16 touchdowns. Costello earned Third-Team All-ODAC honors during his final season in 2021, posting 39 receptions for 598 yards and three touchdowns. He ranked fifth in the ODAC in receiving yards, sixth in receptions, receptions per game (3.9) and receiving yards per game (59.8), and tied for ninth in receiving touchdowns.
A native of Haymarket, Dillon is a 2022 graduate of Hampden-Sydney with a Bachelor of Science degree in government. He was an ODAC All-Academic Team honoree for 2020-21
