Austin earned four varsity letters at Kings High School, where he played for Andy Olds...graduated with the school record with tackles in a game with 22...his sophomore season he was named first team all-league, all SWOCA and all-district...junior season he was named first team all-league...his senior season he was named team captain and first team all-league.
