Collins has four goals as Saints take down the Storm

(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) – Thomas More University men's lacrosse team defeated the Lake Erie College Storm on Saturday (Mar. 7) afternoon by a final score of 16-10. The Saints improve to 2-3 on the season and 1-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
 
How they scored
  • Thomas More scored the first six goals of the game with redshirt-sophomore Bryce Collins (Lewis Center, OH / Olentangy / Mercyhurst) hitting the first one before senior James Kendrick (Springboro, OH / Springboro) had back-to-back with one of them having an assist from senior Spencer Lethbridge (Cleveland, OH / Olmsted Falls). Bryce Collins scored two more goals unassisted including a man-up goal at the 9:05 mark. Freshman Eric Wong (Union, KY / Cooper) connected with junior Noah Koenig (Erlander, KY / Dixie Heights) shortly after the start of the second quarter to give the Saints a 6-0 lead.
  • Lake Erie scored their first goal before three more Saints' goals from freshman Gus Kleeman (Mason, OH / Mason), Eric Wong, and Noah Koenig on a man-down situation.
  • The Storm scored two goals within 50 seconds to work to close the gap but Thomas More scored three more goals before the first half was done. Those three goals came off the sticks of senior Joe Mariani (Warners, NY / Mater Dei Academy / Onondaga CC), Spencer Lethbridge, and Bryce Collin scored his fourth goal with just seconds remaining on the clock.
  • James Kendrick and junior Aspen Cameron (Plain City, OH / Jonathon Alder) connected to score the first goal of the third quarter at the 11:17 mark and gave Thomas More a ten-point lead at 13-3.
  • The Storm scored four unanswered before the teams traded goals in the final quarter.
  • Thomas More's final three goals came from Spencer Lethbridge (2) and Joe Mariani.
