Women's Basketball Comes up Shy to Findlay in G-MAC Quarterfinals

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's No. 3 seeded women's basketball team fell to No.6 seeded Findlay on Tuesday evening (March 3), 64-56. The Saints finish the regular season with an overall record of 22-7 and 14-6 in conference.

First Half
  • Senior Sereniti Webb (Covington, Ky./Simon Kenton) made a layup to kick things off with 9:19 on the clock to put the Saints up 2-0.
  • Senior Rylee Turner (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) drained a 3-point basket half way through the first quarter to extend the Saints lead to 11-6.
  • Rylee Turner drove to the rim for a layup for the Saints final basket of the quarter with 2:03 to play (18-9).
  • The Saints would lead 18-12 at the end of the first quarter.
  • Junior Desiree Tandy (Danville, Ky./Danville) hit a jumper for the Saints first basket of the quarter with 6:48 remaining in the half (20-17).
  • With 2:00 left in the half, Sereniti Webb knocked in two free throws to put the Saints within five (22-27).
  • The Saints would trail 29-23 at the half.
  • Sereniti Webb led the team with six points and had six rebounds in the first half.

  • Rylee Turner made two free throws to start off the scoring for the second half to put the Saints within four with 9:24 to play (25-29).

  • First year Jersey Paul (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Carroll) hit a 3-point shot for the Saints final basket of the quarter with 1:57 on the clock to make it a 36-44 game.
  • The Saints would trail 46-36 going into the final quarter.
  • Rylee Turner nailed a 3-point basket for the Saints first basket of the fourth quarter with 8:30 to play (39-50).
  • Izzy Rotert made a layup with 3:42 on the clock to make it a 48-55 game.
  • Sereniti Webb knocked in two free throws for the Saints final points of the game with 47 seconds to play (56-61).
  • The Saints would fall 64-56 to the Oilers.
  • Rylee Turner led with 11 points and seven rebounds in the second half and had one assist.
  • Izzy Rotert recorded six points and four rebounds.
