Saints fall to Wheeling on the road

(WHEELING, WV) – The Thomas More University men's lacrosse team fell to Wheeling on Saturday afternoon (March 21) by a score of 13-9. The Saints fall to 3-5 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
 

• Senior Zach Colbert (Loveland, OH / Moeller) connected with redshirt sophomore Bryce Collins (Lewis Center, OH / Olentangy / Mercyhurst) for the first goal of the game just over a minute into the game.
• Wheeling scored seven unanswered goals
• Senior Spencer Lethbridge (Cleveland, OH / Olmsted Falls) scored on a man-up scenario with an assist from junior Miles Rhodes (Louisville, KY / DuPont Manual / Kentucky State).
• Junior Noah Koenig (Erlanger, KY / Dixie Heights) scored just before halftime as the Saints trailed 8-3 at the break. He then scored at the 7:41 mark of the third quarter.
• Senior Graham Houser (Hilliard, OH / St. Charles) scored a man-up goal with an assist from senior James Kendrick (Springboro, OH / Springboro) before Spencer Lethbridge had his second goal of the game as the third quarter expired with an assist from redshirt junior Nick Borlin (Worthington, OH / Thomas Worthington).
• Bryce Collins had his second goal as James Kendrick had his second assist just 10 seconds into the final quarter.
• Senior Joe Mariani (Warners, NY / Mater Dei Academy / Onondaga CC) scored with 11:39 remaining in the game with freshman Eric Wong (Union, KY / Cooper) on the assist before Eric Wong scored the final goal for the Saints at the 10:19 mark.

 

• Bryce Collins had two goals on seven shots and caused two turnovers.
• Spencer Lethbridge also had seven shots and scored two goals.
• Noah Koenig had two goals on five shots
• Joe Mariani had five shots and scored a goal.
• Both Graham Houser and Eric Wong scored a goal off their four shots each. Eric Wong also had an assist.
• James Kendrick had two assists while Zach Colbert and Nick Borlin each had one.
• Junior Stephen Schodowski (Chula Vista, CA / St. Augustine) had five ground balls and won 11 of 22 face offs.

 

The Saints will return home next Tuesday (March 24) as they host Malone. The game is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
