Women's Basketball Beats ODU on the Road

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)-Thomas More University's women's basketball team defeated ODU on Thursday (Jan 15), 70-65. The Saints overall record improves to 14-1 and 6-1 in conference.

• Senior Sereniti Webb (Covington, Ky./Simon Kenton) kicked things off for the Saints by hitting a jump shot with 8:00 on the clock to put the Saints within three (2-5).
• Junior Desiree Tandy (Danville, Ky./Danville) made a jump shot with 4:37 to play in the quarter to make it a 8-10 game.
• Sereniti Webb drove to the rim for a layup for the Saints final basket of the quarter with 18 seconds left to make it a 14-16 game at the end of the first quarter.
• Sereniti Webb knocked in a jump shot with 9:01 on the clock to get things started for the Saints in the second quarter (14-18).
• With 6:08 left in the first half, junior Izzy Rotert (Harrison, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) drove to the basket for a layup to put the Saints up 28-18.
• Redshirt sophomore Rylee Leonard (Sardina, Ohio/Eastern Brown) made a layup for the final basket of the quarter with 43 seconds remaining in the half to give the Saints a 38-30 at the half.
• Sereniti Webb led the team with eight points and had four rebounds.
• Senior Rylee Turner (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) led the Saints with seven rebounds and had seven points and three assists.
• Junior Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, Ohio/Tri-Village) had seven points and one rebound, and one assist.
• The Saints were 36.4% (12-33) from the field, 23.5% (4-17) from the 3-point line, and 100% (2-2) from the free throw line in the first half.

• Sereniti Webb knocked in two free throws to start off the third quarter with 8:30 on the clock to make it a 40-32 game.
• Desiree Tandy made a layup to extend the Saints lead to 44-36 with 6:03 to play in the quarter.
• Izzy Rotert made a free throw for the Saints final point of the quarter with 58 seconds on the clock (52-43).
• The Saints would lead 52-46 at the end of the third quarter.
• Izzy Rotert made a free throw for the Saints first point of the fourth quarter with 9:45 to play (53-46).
• Junior Amara Jackson (Huntington, WV/Huntington) hit a jump shot to make it a 62-47 game with 6:43 remaining.
• Junior Kendall Sterling (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) knocked in two free throws for the Saints final points of the game with nine seconds on the clock (70-63).
• The Saints would secure the 70-65 win over the Panther.
• Kendall Sterling led the Saints with seven points in the second half.
• Izzy Rotert tallied four rebounds to lead the team and had six points.
• The Saints were 41.9% (13-31) from the field, 30% (3-10) from the 3-point line, and 66.7% (6-9) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Sereniti Webb led the team with 14 points and had five rebounds.
• Rylee Turner recorded 10 rebounds and four assists to lead the Saints and had nine points.
• Rylee Leonard had 12 points, two rebounds, and one assist.
• Izzy Rotert tallied 10 points, six rebounds, and one assist.
• The Saints were 39.1% (25-64) from the field, 25.9% (7-27) from the 3-point line, and 72.7% (8-11) from the free throw line.
