Women's Basketball Closes Out Season Against Ashland in G-MAC Tournament Quarterfinals

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's women's basketball team fell to No. 1 seed Ashland on Tuesday evening (March 4) in the G-MAC Tournament Quarterfinals, 81-49. The Saints finished their season win an overall record of 11-18 and 8-12 in conference.

• Sophomore Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, OH / Tri-Village) made a layup in the paint to kick things off for the Saints with 9:18 on the clock (2-2).
• Junior Sereniti Webb (Covington, KY / Simon Kenton) made one free throw with 5:52 to play in the quarter to make it a 7-9 game.
• Junior Natalie Noel (Salem, IN / Salem) made a layup to put the Saints within eight with 14 seconds left in the quarter (14-22).
• The Saints trailed 23-14 at the end of the first quarter.
• Sereniti Webb knocked in one free throw to start things off in the second quarter with 9:10 on the clock (15-23).
• Sophomore Desiree Tandy (Danville, KY/Danville) made one free throw to put the Saints within seven with 5:50 remaining in the half (19-26).
• Sereniti Webb drove to the rim for a layup with 44 second left in the half for the final basket of the quarter to give Ashland a 43-26 lead at the half.
• Junior Alaina Keeney (Wheelersburg, OH / Wheelersburg) had five point to lead the team in the first half.
• Sereniti Webb tallied five points and four rebounds to lead the team.
• Junior Rylee Turner (Newport, KY/Newport Central Catholic) also led with four rebounds and had four points and one assist.
• The Saints were 40.9% (9-22) from the field, 20% (1-5) from the 3-point line, and 50% (7-14) from the free throw line in the first half.

• First year Anna Drakeford (Harrodsburg, KY / Mercer County) made a jump shot to start things off in the second half with 9:39 on the clock (28-43).
• Sereniti Webb knocked in two free throws with 6:33 to play in the quarter to make it a 34-49 game.
• Rylee Turner made a driving layup off a fast break for the Saints final basket of the quarter with 2:30 on the clock (43-58).
• The Saints trailed 60-43 going into the final quarter.
• Sereniti Webb made a layup in the paint with 8:53 to play for the Saints first basket of the quarter (45-62).
• Rylee Turner knocked in two free throws with 5:33 remaining to make it a 70-49 game.
• The Saints would fall 81-49 to the Eagles to close out their season.
• Rylee Turner led with eight points in the second half and six rebounds.
• The Saints were 31% (9-29) from the field, 33.3% (1-3) from the 3-point line, and 100% (4-4) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Rylee Turner led with a double double of 12 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists.
• Anna Drakeford had 10 points, two assists, and one rebound.
• Sereniti Webb had nine points, four rebounds, and one assist.
• The Saints were 55% (33-60) from the field, 44.4% (8-18) from the 3-point line, and 77.8% (7-9) from the free throw line.

The Saints return next fall to start year three in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
