Wrestling Closes Out Season at NCWA Nationals

(SHREVEPORT, LA)-Thomas More University's men's wrestling team competed at the NCWA National Championships on Thursday and Saturday (March 13/15). The Saints placed eighth out of 85 teams.


125lb Weight Class

• First year Trevor Wilcox (Haskins, Ohio/Ostego) fell to Elijah Valencia (Menlo) in a 4-1 decision.
• Trevor Wilcox defeated Aiden Scheeringa (Liberty) in a 5-3 decision.
• Trevor Wilcox won in a 15-9 decision over Julian Sanchez (Menlo).
• Trevor Wilcox won in a 16-0 TF over Hayden Lewandoski.
• Trevor Wilcox won in a 15-0 TF over Carlos Burton (Arizona).
• Trevor Wilcox won by forfeit over Jarlon Jarrett (Kennesaw State) to place second.

133-lb Weight Class

• First year Matt Ellis (Waynesville, Ohio/Waynesville) fell in a 7-2 decision over Bruno Alves (Apprentice).
