Junior Highlights (2024-25): Appeared in 14 matches on the season and posted an overall record of 11-3 on the year. Recorded 5 wins by pins and 2 wins by major decision. Earned Second Team NCWA All-American honors for the 133lb. weight class. Earned NCWA Scholar All-American honors. And was an NCWA National Qualifier for the 133lb. weight class.

High School Highlights: Ellis attended Waynesville High School where he was coached by Gary Kessler. During his career he earned 7th Place OHSAA State, Northeastern Regional Champion, and OHSAA State Finalist honors.

Personal: Matt Ellis is the son of Chad and Becky Ellis. He has two siblings, Ryan and Mark. He transferred to Thomas More from Kent State University.
