Men's Basketball Wins on the Road Against ODU

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team defeated Ohio Dominican on Thursday evening (Feb 20), 75-67. The Saints overall record improves to 17-8 and 11-7 in conference.

• Junior Mitchell Rylee (Ft. Mitchell, Ky./Covington Catholic) kicked off the game with a layup with 19:46 on the clock to put the Saints on the board 2-0.
• Senior Wyatt Vieth (Hebron, Ky./St. Henry) drove to the rim for a layup to make it a 11-3 game with 16:42 left in the half.
• Mitchell Rylee hit a jump shot with 11:18 to play in the half, to put the Saints up 18-15.
• With 6:20 to play in the half, first year Tyler Johnson (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) knocked in a jumper to extend the Saints lead to 27-19.
• Junior Ryan Paris (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) hit a 3-point shot for the Saints final basket of the half with 17 seconds remaining (43-30).
• The Saints led 43-31 going into the locker room at the half.
• Senior Casey George (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) led the team with 11 points and two assists and had two rebounds.
• Wyatt Vieth also had two assists to lead the team and had seven points and one rebound.
• Mitchell Rylee had two assists to lead the Saints in the second half and had eight points and two rebounds.
• The Saints were 65.5% (19-29) from the field and 50% (5-10) from the 3-point line.

• Mitchell Rylee made a layup to start things off for the Saints in the second half with 18:07 on the clock to make it a 45-33 game.
• With 14:14 to play, Casey George knocked in two free throws to put the Saints up 51-43.
• Ryan Paris made a 3-point shot with 10:03 remaining to extend the Saints lead to 59-52.
• Casey George drove to the rim for a layup to make it a 67-61 game with 3:10 left to play.
• Redshirt first year Kai Simpson (Lexington, Ky./Frederick Douglass) made a layup for the final basket of the game with 17 seconds left to secure the Saints 75-67 win over the Panthers.
• Casey George led with 12 points, four rebounds, and two assists in the second half.
• Mitchell Rylee and Kai Simpson both also tallied four rebounds to lead the team and both had six points.
• The Saints were 35.5% (11-31) from the field, 15.4% (2-13) from the 3-point line, and 88.9% (8-9) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Casey George recorded 23 points and four assists to lead the team and had six rebounds.
• Tyler Johnson tallied eight rebounds to lead the Saints and had four rebounds and one assist.
• Mitchell Rylee had 14 points, six rebounds, and two assists.
• Kai Simpson had 11 points and seven rebounds.
• The Saints were 44.2% (23-52) from the field, 39.3% (11-28) from the 3-point line, and 66.7% (10-15) from the free throw line.

The Saints return next Thursday (Feb 28) against Hillsdale in Hillsdale, Mich. at 7:00 pm ET.
