Men's Basketball Wins on the Road Against ODU

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team defeated Ohio Dominican on Thursday evening (Feb 20), 75-67. The Saints overall record improves to 17-8 and 11-7 in conference.

First Half
  • Junior Mitchell Rylee (Ft. Mitchell, Ky./Covington Catholic) kicked off the game with a layup with 19:46 on the clock to put the Saints on the board 2-0.
  • Senior Wyatt Vieth (Hebron, Ky./St. Henry) drove to the rim for a layup to make it a 11-3 game with 16:42 left in the half.
  • Mitchell Rylee hit a jump shot with 11:18 to play in the half, to put the Saints up 18-15.
  • With 6:20 to play in the half, first year Tyler Johnson (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) knocked in a jumper to extend the Saints lead to 27-19.
  • Junior Ryan Paris (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) hit a 3-point shot for the Saints final basket of the half with 17 seconds remaining (43-30).

  • Mitchell Rylee made a layup to start things off for the Saints in the second half with 18:07 on the clock to make it a 45-33 game.

  • Redshirt first year Kai Simpson (Lexington, Ky./Frederick Douglass) made a layup for the final basket of the game with 17 seconds left to secure the Saints 75-67 win over the Panthers.
  • Casey George led with 12 points, four rebounds, and two assists in the second half.
  • Mitchell Rylee and Kai Simpson both also tallied four rebounds to lead the team and both had six points.
  • The Saints were 35.5% (11-31) from the field, 15.4% (2-13) from the 3-point line, and 88.9% (8-9) from the free throw line in the second half.
