Women's Basketball Falls to Cedarville For First Loss of Season

Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY)-Thomas More University's women's basketball team fell to the Cedarville Yellow Jackets on Saturday (December, 6th) afternoon by a score of 63 to 51. Thomas More falls to 6-1 overall on the season and 1-1 in G-MAC play.

• Junior Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, OH / Tri-Village) scored the first points of the game on a layup off an assist from junior Izzy Rotert (Harrison, OH / Mercy McAuley).
• Redshirt sophomore Rylee Leonard (Sardina, OH / Eastern Brown) knocked down a triple to give the Saints a 5 to 0 lead with 9:20 left in the opening quarter.
• Morgan Hunt drains a triple, and an and-one from junior Desiree Tandy (Danville, KY / Danville) puts the Saints in front 11 to 0.
• Izzy Rotert caps off the fast 13 to 0 start for the Saints with a layup at the 5:36 mark.
• Senior Sereniti Wbb (Covington, KY / Simon Kenton) makes a layup to end the Cedarville run. (15-10)
• Senior Rylee Turner (Newport, KY / Newport Central Catholic) scored the first points of the second quarter for the Saints on a layup to take back a two point lead.
• Rylee Turner follows with a three pointer at the 6:10 mark to make it a 20 to 18 game.
• Izzy Rotert scored a layup off a Morgan Hunt assist as Thomas More leads 22 to 21 with 5:24 left in the half.
• Thomas More trails at halftime by a score of 24 to 22.
• Rylee Turner and Morgan Hunt led the Saints in scoring with 5 points each.
• Izzy Rotert tallied 4 points, and a team high 8 rebounds in the half.

• Sereniti Webb scored the first bucket of the second half to tie the game up at 24.

• Izzy Rotert and Sereniti Webb scored buckets down the stretch in the third as the Saints trail 43 to 37 heading into the final quarter.
• Sereniti Webb continued a strong game with the first Saint bucket of the final quarter to make the score 45 to 39.
• With 7:19 to go, Rylee Turner makes a layup to cut into the Cedarville lead. (42-48)
