Men's Basketball Falls in Overtime at Northwood

Box Score (Midland, MI)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team fell the Northwood Timberwolves on the road on Wednesday (December, 17th) afternoon. The Saints lost by a final score of 102 to 100 in overtime. Thomas More falls to 5-4 overall and 1-3 in G-MAC play.

First Half
  • Redshirt sophomore Kai Simpson (Lexington, KY / Shawnee) got the scoring started for Thomas More with a steal and layup with 18:52 left in the opening half.
  • Back to back buckets from senior Mitchell Rylee (Ft. Mitchell, KY / Covington Catholic) ties the game up at 6 a piece with 17:44 left in the half.
  • Junior Carson Browne (Cincinnati, OH / Elder) knocks down a triple to give Thomas More their first lead of the day with 15:39 left in the half.
  • Redshirt junior Colin McHale (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) puts Thomas More up 15 to 12 with a turn around jumper with 13:24 left in the half.
  • Buckets by Mitchell Rylee and Colin McHale keep the Saints in front by a score of 21 to 19 with 8:31 left in the half.
  • Kai Simpson knocks down a jump shot with 4:20 left in the half to tie the game at 27.
  • With 2:03 left in the half, senior Ryan Paris (Hilliard, OH / Hilliard Davidson) hits a three pointer to tie the game up again at 32.

  • With 12:19 left to play, Daniel Allen drains another three pointer, this time off an assist from Mitchell Rylee to keep the Saints in front by six.
  • Ryan Paris follows with a three pointer at the 11:15 mark to make it a 66 to 60 game.
  • Daniel Allen continues his hot hand from deep with his third triple of the half with 10:43 left to play to make it a 69 to 62 game.
  • Thomas More forces a turnover and Mitchell Rylee makes a jumper to give the Saints an 8 point lead and forcing a Northwood timeout with 10:00 left to play.
  • With 8:15 left to go, Daniel Allen makes a layup off an assist from Mitchell Rylee to give Thomas More a 75 to 69 lead.
