(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced their 2025-2026 Men's Basketball Coaches' Preseason Poll this week, and Thomas More was picked to finish 3rd with 112 points and 2 first place votes.
This will be the Saints third season in the G-MAC after a 2024-25 campaign that saw the Saints finish 19-11 on the season and 12-8 in G-MAC play. The Saints hosted the G-MAC Quarterfinal round, and made it to the conference championship game for the second year in a row where they fell to Malone by a score of 76 to 63.
It will be head coach
Justin Ray's 8th season running the program. Thomas More returns a group led by senior
Mitchell Rylee (Fort Mitchell, KY / Covington Catholic / Miami Univ.) and redshirt sophomore
Kai Simpson (Lexington, KY / Fredrick Douglass).
The Findlay Oilers sit on the top of the poll with 126 points and 8 first place votes. The Oilers were last season's regular season champions with a 17-3 conference record. Ashland comes in at number 2 with 117 points and 2 first place votes. Thomas More rounds out the top 3 with 112 points and 2 first place votes.
The middle of the poll shows Cedarville in 4th (105 points), Hillsdale in 5th (81 points), Kentucky Wesleyan in 6th (80 points), Walsh in 7th (73 points), and Lake Erie and Ohio Dominican in a tie for 8th with 61 points a piece.
The rest of the poll has Malone in 10th (49 points), Northwood in 11th (48 points), and Tiffin in 12th (22 points) to round out the poll.
Thomas More will open the season on Friday, November 14th. When they travel to Elsah, Illinois to compete in the Crossover Classic. They will take on Southwest Baptist University at 5:00 PM.
