Women's Soccer Defeat Walsh in Conference Game

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's women's soccer team defeated Walsh on Thursday evening (Oct 16), 2-0. The Saints overall record improves to 6-6-1 and 5-3-1 in conference.

• Sophomore Josie Gruber (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville North) crushed a ball off the cross bar into the net to put the Saints ahead 1-0 with 36 minutes to play in the game.
• Sophomore Ivy Hoffman (Covington, Ky./Holy Cross) intercepted a bad pass from the Cavaliers for a one on one goal for the Saints in the 31st minute (2-0).

• Josie Gruber and Ivy Hoffman both tallied two shots with one on goal finding the back of the net.
• Senior Katlynn Staley (Sacramento, Calif./Liberty Ranch) had one shot/
• First year Alexis Harden (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland) had two shots.
• Graduate student Amy Bos (Nijmegen, Netherlands/Mondial Coll.) and junior Andjela Popovic (Belgrade, Serbia/Belgrade) both recorded on shot.
• Senior Tea Pence (Hamilton, Ohio/Hamilton) tallied four saves and a shutout.

The Saints return Saturday (Oct 18) against Findlay at 1:00 pm ET in Findlay, Ohio.
