(DAYTON, Ohio) – The University of Dayton and Thomas More University have announced that their football teams will play a three-game series beginning in 2025.
All three games will be played in Dayton.
"We are excited to finalize a deal with a Division I FCS football program," Head Football Coach Chris Norwell says. " The University of Dayton has a quality program with a great tradition of success. With our close proximity and shared catholic identity, this series will benefit both universities. Our team will be eager for this opportunity to share the stage with the Flyers. An added bonus is the ability to play in Welcome Stadium that has a rich football history."
"We are excited to have the opportunity to Play the University of Dayton," says Vice President and Director of Athletics Terry Connor. "This will pit two great Catholic institutions with high quality academics and excellent football programs."
The first game between two Catholic institutions roughly 60 miles apart will open the 2025 season on Sept. 6, 2025. Thomas More is in their last year as NCAA Division II Provisional members. The second game will be on Sept. 12, 2026, in the second week of that season, and the third will be played on Sept. 4, 2027 in that year's season opener.
