Baseball Drops to Miami-Hamilton by One

(HAMILTON, OH)-Thomas More University's baseball team fell to Miami-Hamilton on Wednesday (April, 24th) by a score of 6 to 5. The Saints drop to an overall record of 13 and 31 on the season.

• Miami Hamilton tallied a run in the 2nd and 3 runs in the 4th to take a 4-0 lead.
• First year Sam Bond (St. Leon, IN / East Central) scored in the 8th inning off a throwing error to get the Saints on the scoreboard.
• Junior AJ Enginger (Hamilton, OH / Badin) hit an RBI single to make it a 4 to 2 game in the 8th.
• Miami-Hamilton added two more runs in the bottom of the 8th to make it 6 to 2.
• Senior Brady Baldock (Burlington, KY / St. Henry) hit an RBI double to get the Saints going in the 9th.
• Sam Bond would score his second run of the game off another throwing error. 
• Sophomore Gunner Kalkhoff (Cincinnati, OH / LaSalle) hit an RBI single to bring the score to 6 to 5.

• Senior Gavin Pearson (Burlington, KY / Cooper) went 3 for 5 at the plate with a run scored.
• Brady Baldock went 2 for 5 with an RBI, a double and 2 runs scored.
• Graduate student Derek Atwood (Burlington, KY / Conner) went 2 for 4 with a triple in the ball game.

• Sophomore Tony Spangler (Springboro, OH / Springboro) pitched 4.0 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits and struck out 2.
• Sophomore Ian Biernaum (Cincinnati, OH / LaSalle) pitched 2.0 innings, allowing only one walk and struck out 2.
• Sophomore Cody Watkins (Cincinnati, OH / Lakota East) pitched 1.0 innings, allowing a walk and struck out one.
• Sophomore Jack Rutz (Cincinnati, OH / LaSalle) pitched 1.0 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits.

The Saints return to action this weekend (April 26-27) in their conference finale against Trevecca Nazarene with a double header Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m. ET at Thomas More University Stadium.
