Saints Pick Up Third Straight Win in Five Sets Over Lees-McRae

(Banner Elk, NC) - The Thomas More men's volleyball team faced off against Lees-McRae College on Saturday (March 30).  Thomas More defeated Lees-McRae in five sets and the Saints are now 14-11 overall.
 

• Thomas More won the opening set 25 to 23.

• Thomas More won the second set 25 to 23.

• Lees-McRae won the third set 25 to 17

• Lees-McRae won the fourth set 25 to 23.

• Thomas More won the match in the fifth set 15 to 10.

• Freshman Jacob Schurfranz (Louisville, KY/Trinity) and Junior Ben Albers (Cincinnati, OH/Elder) both led the Saints in kills with 8 each.

• Freshman Jacob Schurfranz (Louisville, KY/Trinity) led in hitting percentage with .636%.

• Freshman Jacob Schurfranz (Louisville, KY/Trinity) and Sophomore Noah Smith-Trondle (Hartwell, OH/Walnut Hills) led in service aces with 2 each.  They also both led in digs with 5 each.

• Junior Caleb Lipscomb (Cincinnati, OH/Walnut Hills) led in total blocks with 3.

• Sophomore Noah Smith-Trondle (Hartwell, OH/Walnut Hills) led the team in assists with 29.  

The Thomas More men's volleyball team returns to action on Thursday (April 4) against Midway University at home.  The match is set for 7:00 PM.  This match is also senior night for the Saints.
