Saints Second Half Comeback Falls Short At Tiffin

(TIFFIN, OH) – The Thomas More University women's lacrosse team lost to Tiffin on Saturday (March, 23rd) by a score of 14 to 11. The Saints drop to an overall record of 0-11 on the season and 0-2 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.

How they scored
  • Tiffin Scores 7 straight to open the game and take a lead.
  • Sophomore Meg Pierani (Bright, IN / Mercy McAuley) get the Saints on the board with a goal off an assist from first year Alex Nunn (Loveland, OH / Loveland) (1-7).
  • Tiffin scores 3 more to take a 10 to 1 halftime lead.
  • Alex Nunn opens the second half with 2 goals off assists from senior Madi Carle (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) and Meg Pierani (3-10).
  • Meg Pierani scores her second goal of the game to make it 10 to 4.
  • After two more Tiffin goals, Madi Carle scores back to back off assists from Alex Nunn to make it 12 to 6.
  • Senior Mckenzie Mobley (Harrison, OH / Harrison) scores an unassisted goal. (7-12)
  • Alex Nunn answers another Tiffin goal to keep the score at 13 to 8.
  • First year Alexis Denman (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) scores back to back to bring the Saints within 3. (10-13)
  • After another Tiffin goal, Alex Nunn scores off a pass from sophomore Sarah Metz (Middletown, OH / Little Miami) to make it 14 to 11.
 
  • Alex Nunn led the Saints with four goals and 3 assists on the day to go with 14 draw controls and four ground balls.
  • Madi Carle added 2 goals and an assist to go along with 5 ground balls and a 2 caused turnovers.
  • Meg Pierani tallied 2 goals and a ground ball for the Saints.

 

The Saints will return to action on Thursday (April, 4th) when host Walsh at Republic Bank Field. That game is set to start at 5:00 PM.
