Bryce Collins Scores Five Goals in Loss at Shorter

(ROME, GA) - The Thomas More men's lacrosse team fell to Shorter on the road on Saturday (March, 2nd) morning by a score of 16 to 11. Thomas More drops to an overall record of 0-3 on the season.

• Shorter opened the game with a quick goal to take the early lead (0-1).
• Sophomore Spencer Lethbridge (Cleveland, OH / Olmsted Falls) tallied the Saints response with an unassisted goal to tie it up (1-1).
• First year Bryce Collins (Lewis Center, OH / Olentangy) scored his first goal of the game to give the Saints the lead (2-1).
• Shorter answered with a goal right before sophomore James Kendrick (Springboro, OH / Springboro) scored off an assist from first year Mario Hill (Chicago, IL / Loyola Academy) (3-2).
• Shorter retook the lead with seven straight goals (3-9).
• Bryce Collins and sophomore Nick Boriin (Worthington, OH / Thomas Worthington) tallied back to back goals to close the gap to four (5-9).
• Sophomore Graham Houser (Hilliard, OH / St. Charles) found Spencer Lethbridge for a goal to make it a 9 to 6 game at halftime.
• Shorter scored to open the second half to make it a four goal lead (6-10).
• Bryce Collins tallied his third goal of the game, and Graham Houser followed with a goal of his own off a pass from first year Noah Koenig (Erlanger, KY / Dixie Heights) (8-10).
• After another Shorter goal, Noah Koenig scores his first career goal on an assist from Spencer Lethbridge (9-11).
• Mario Hills finds Bryce Collins for his fourth goal of the game with 3:38 to go in the third (10-11).
• After a Shorter goal, Spencer Lethbridge finds Bryce Collins for another Saint goal to keep it at a one goal game (11-12).
• Shorter closed out the final quarter with four goals to make it a 16 to 11 final.

• Bryce Collins led the Saints with 5 goals on the day to go with 2 ground balls.
• Spencer Lethbridge tallied 2 assists and 2 goals on the day.
• Noah Koenig tallied a goal and an assist go go with 3 ground balls and a caused turnover.

Men's lacrosse will return to action on Tuesday (March, 5th) when they travel to Montevalla, Alabama to take on Montevallo. That game is set to begin at 1:00 PM.
