Men's Basketball Gets Road G-MAC Victory Over Tiffin

Box Score (TIFFIN, OH)- Thomas More University's men's basketball team traveled to take on the Tiffin Dragons on Saturday (December 14). The Saints defeated the Dragons by a score of 68 to 58. Thomas More improves to an overall record of 6-3 and a G-MAC record of 2-1.

• Redshirt first year Jack McCune (Paducah, KY. / McCracken County) got the Saints started with a bucket at 19:23 in the opening half to give the Saints a 2-0 lead.
• With 16:42 to go, junior Mitchell Rylee (Fort Mitchell, KY / Covington Catholic) makes a layup to extend the Saint lead to four (6-2).
• Saints make some free throws over the next few minutes, and with 11:23 to go senior Casey George (Pickerington, OH / Pickerington North) makes a jumper to make it a 12 to 9 Saint lead.
• Following a Tiffin three pointer that tied it up, first year Jashaun Pouncy (Erlanger, KY / Cooper) makes a layup to give the Saints back the lead.
• With 6:57 to go in the half, Pouncy makes a layup to extend the Saint lead to five (20-15).
• Casey George hits the first Saint triple of the day with 5:29 to go to make it a 23 to 19 game.
• With 50 seconds to go in the half, Jack McCune hits a jumper following an offensive rebound to put Thomas More up 26 to 21 at halftime.
• Thomas More shot 10-32 (31.3%) from the field, 1-12 (8.3%) from three, and 5-7 (71.4%) from the free throw line for the half.
• Casey George led the way for the Saints with 9 points in the half along with 3 rebounds and 3 steals.
• Jack McCune added 4 points to go with his team high 4 rebounds.
• Jashaun Pouncy recorded 5 points in the opening half.

• Senior Wyatt Vieth (Hebron, KY / St. Henry) got the Saints started in the second half by converting on an and-one to make it a 29 to 21 game.
• With 16:52 to go, Vieth knocks down a three pointer off an assist from Casey George to make it a 6 point Saint lead.
• After two buckets from Jack McCune the Saints lead with 14:07 to go by a score of 41 to 33.
• With 11:50 to go, redshirt freshman Kai Simpson (Lexington, KY / Frederick Douglass) knocks down a three pointer to make it an 8 point game (44-36).
• Mitchell Rylee goes on a personal five point run to extend the Saint lead to 51 to 42 with 7:07 to go.
• Vieth and McCune make back to back buckets as the Saints go ahead by 13 with 5:41 to go (55-42).
• Thomas More holds a 58 to 45 lead with 4:03 to go, after a Mitchell Rylee and-one.
• Redshirt freshman Zion Crowe (Springfield, OH / Shawnee) makes a driving layup with 1:34 to go to keep the Saint lead at 13 (60-47).
• Thomas More knocks own their free throws down the final stretch to win by a final score of 68 to 58.
• Thomas More shot 24-58 (41.4%) from the field, 3-19 (15.8%) from three and 17-22 (77.3%) from the free throw line in the game.
• Wyatt Vieth tallied all 12 of his points in the second half.

• Mitchell Rylee led the team in points with 15 to go along with 4 assists and 3 rebounds.
• Casey George tallied 13 points and a team high 3 steals to go with 5 rebounds.
• Wyatt Vieth recorded 12 points to go with his 5 rebounds in the contest.
• Jack McCune posted a team high 6 rebounds and 12 points in the game.
