Women's Soccer Defeats Kentucky Wesleyan in Season Finale

(OWENSBORO, Ky.)-Thomas More University's women's soccer team defeated Kentucky Wesleyan on Wednesday evening (November 6), 5-3. The Saints finished their season with an overall record of 6-8-3 and 3-8-3 in conference.

How they scored
  • Sophomore Andjela Popovic (Belgrade, Serbia/Belgrade) scored in the fourth minute to put the Saints on top 1-0.
  • Kentucky Wesleyan scored back to back goals in the 10th and 14th minute to give the Panthers the lead (2-1).
  • In the 24th minute, first year Ivy Hoffman (Taylor Mill, Ky./Holy Crossed) found the back net to equalize the game at 2-2 with an assist from Andjela Popovic.
  • Senior Amy Bos (Nijmegen, Netherlands/Mondial College Nijmegen) scored in the 29th minute, off an assist by Andjela Popovic and junior Lauren Laake (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mt. Notre Dame) to give the Saints the 3-2 lead.

  • Kenntucky Wesleyan scored in the 77th minute to put the Panthers within one goal (4-3).
