Women's Basketball Falls to the Trojans on the Road

Box Score (Nashville, Tenn.)-Thomas More University's women's basketball team fell to Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday afternoon (November 23), 53-48 . The Saints overall record falls to 1-4.

• Junior Rylee Turner (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) kicked the scoring off for the Saints, driving to the rim for a layup to tie things up at 2-2 with 7:37 on the clock.
• Sophomore Laney Baker (West Harrison, Ohio/East Central) made a layup with 1:44 to put the Saints within two (12-14).
• The Saints trailed 12-18 at the end of the first quarter.
• Rylee Turner drove to the basket for a layup to start things off for the Saints in the second quarter with 8:40 to play (14-18).
• Laney Baker knocked in two free throws with 37 seconds left in the quarter to make it a 27-21 game at the half.
• Sophomore Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, OH / Tri-Village) led the Saints with eight points in the first half and had two rebounds.
• Ryle Turner led the team with four rebounds and had six points and one assist.
• Laney Baker had six points, two rebounds, and one assist.
• The Saints were 38.1% (8-21) from the field, 28.6% (2-7) from the 3-point line, and 75% (3-4) from the free throw line in the first half.

• Morgan Hunt made a layup to start things off in the second half to make it a 23-27 game.
• With 6:45 on the clock, Laney Baker drove to the basket for a layup to put the Saints within one (30-31).
• Junior Alaina Keeney (Wheelersburg, Ohio/Wheelersburg) made a layup for the final basket of the third quarter to tie things up at 38-38.
• Rylee Turner hit a jump shot with 4:30 to play to make it a 41-48 game. 
• First year Anna Drakeford (Harrodsburg, Ky. / Mercer County) made a layup with 1:15 to play to make it a five point game (45-50).
• Rylee Turner made the Saints final basket with one second left to make it a 48-51 game.
• The Saints fell 53-48 to the Trojans.
• Rylee Turner led with 12 points and seven rebounds.
• The Saints were 38.5% (10-26) from the field, 9% (1-11) from the 3-point line, and 75% (6-8) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Rylee Turner led across the board with 18 points,1 rebounds, and two assists.
• Morgan Hunt Followed with 11 points, five rebounds, and one assist.
