Men's Basketball Defeat Miami-Hamilton

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team defeated Miami-Hamilton on Thursday evening (November 21), 59-56. The Saints overall record improves to 3-1.

• Redshirt first year Kai Simpson (Lexington, Ky./Frederick Douglas) kicked off the scoring for the game driving to the rim for a layup to put the Saints on the board 2-0 with 19:06 on the clock.
• With 13:03 to play in the half, senior Casey George (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) hit a jump shot to tie things up at 14-14.
• Sophomore Cam McClain (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Trinity) drained a 3-point basket with 8:47 to play in the half to put the Saints within two (20-22).
• Kai Simpson drove to the rim to give the Saints the lead with 3:16 in the half to make it a 31-28 game.
• Casey George made a layup for the final basket of the half as time ran out to tie things up at 37-37 going into the locker room at the half.
• Casey George led the team with 13 points in the first half and had one assist,
• Kai Simpson led with four assists and three rebounds and had five points.
• The Saints were 46.4% (13-28) from the field, 28.6% (4-14) from the 3-point line, and 70% (7-10) from the free throw line in the first half.

• Senior Wyatt Vieth (Hebron, Ky./St. Henry) knocked down two free throws to start off the second half to put the Saints up 39-37 with 19:49 on the clock. 
• Redshirt first year Jack McCune (Paducah, Ky./McCracken County) made a 3-point jump shot with 13:44 to play in the game to make it a 49-41 game.
• With 7:06 to play, Kai Simpson hit a jump shot to put the Saints up 55-51.
• Jack McCune put in a jump shot with 3:13 to play to put the Saints ahead 57-56.
• Junior Ryan Paris (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) knocked in two free throws to secure the Saints win over the Harriers with one second to play (59-56).
• Kai Simpson led the Saints with six points and had one rebound.
• Wyatt Vieth had a team high of seven rebounds in the second half and two points.
• Casey George led with two assists and had four points and one rebound.
• The Saints were 26.7% (8-30) from the field, 7.1% (1-14) from the 3-point line, and 100% (5-5) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Casey George led the Saints with 17 points and a career high of six steals and also tallied three assists and one rebound.
• Ryan Paris had 10 points and four rebounds.
• Wyatt Vieth led with nine rebounds and had five points and one assist.
• Kai Simpson recorded four assists for a team high and had 11 points and four rebounds.
• The Saints were 36.2% (21-58) from the field, 17.9% (5-28) from the 3-point line, and 80% (12-15) from the free throw line.
