Five Different Saints Record Points in Road Victory

(Midland, MI)- Thomas More University's men's soccer team defeated the Northwood Timberwolves on Saturday (October, 19th) on the road by a score of 3 to 1. The Saints overall record improves to 5-8-1 and 5-4-1 in conference.

• In the 17th minute of the match, graduate student Yalcin Apaydin (Berlin, Germany / Luise Henriette) broke the scoreless game with a goal to make it 1 to 0 Thomas More.
• Two minutes later the Saints struck again, as sophomore Mauricio Medina (La Florida, Chile / Colegio Semper Altius / Harcum Co) found the back of the net off an assist from redshirt junior Matthaus Buechner (Goshen, OH / Goshen) to make it a 2 to 0 game.
• Graduate student Tim Stolz (Donaueschingen, Germany / Fuerstenberg) extended the Saints lead to 3 to 0 with a goal off an assist from junior Will Fox (Ely, UK / Bishop Laney). Thomas More led 3 to 0 at halftime.
• Northwood recorded their lone goal of the match in the 66th minute to make it 3 to 1.

• Saints recorded 3 shots on goal in the match, all three resulted in goals.
• Five different Saints recorded a point in the match.
• Junior goalie Emilio Benmergui Rodriquez (Valencia, Spain / Cumbres School Valencia) recorded 5 saves in the match.

The Saints return to action on Saturday (October 26) at Findlay at 4:00 pm.
